Google Kubernetes Engine Enterprise – avoid detours

Operating a standard Kubernetes environment is not always trivial, which is why all cloud providers actually offer their own distributions. These then provide features such as multi-cluster management, observability, service mesh, security or compliance functionalities. Google also separates in this way and offers an Enterprise Kubernetes alongside its Kubernetes distribution GKE. Our workshop shows how admins can use this variant to implement the centralised management of all clusters and their resources.

The enterprise version of the Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) defines a consistent platform that IT managers can use to modernise existing applications and infrastructures from a central location via a uniform cloud operating model.

This includes governance and security features in particular, which are implemented at fleet level.
