Nutanix .NEXT: how HCI should optimise energy consumption

Nutanix presented several innovations to its HCI offering as part of the .NEXT On Tour in Darmstadt. The focus was on optimised energy consumption through HCI.

At the end of November 2024, the US manufacturer Nutanix organised the German offshoot of its .NEXT conference in Darmstadt. Over 650 visitors responded to the call from the provider specialising in hybrid multi-cloud solutions and found out about the latest developments relating to the Nutanix stack.

Since the acquisition of VMware by Broadcom at the end of 2023, Nutanix has been the focus of customers who are frustrated by the change in licensing policy and increased costs and are looking for alternatives to the VMware stack.

The core of the Nutanix offering is the Nutanix Cloud Platform and the Acropolis Operating System hypervisor, which Nutanix updated to version 6.10 at the beginning of October 2024, which is also available as a stable long-term support release and delivers the new features of previous versions 6.6 to 6.81 in a single update.
