Having long been primarily at home in the data centre, VMware has been focusing on the multicloud for some time now. With the revamped Aria suite, VMware offers a tool for the standardised management of such environments. For this article, we took a look at Aria Operations and explain its basics and practical use.
As in the previous version, the vRealize suite, there are also various products within VMware Aria. Aria Cost is a tool for the simplified management of cloud costs and capacities. The aim is to achieve complete cost transparency, continuous optimisation of expenditure and simplified capacity management.
Aria Automation is a platform for self-service infrastructure automation in multicloud environments. The DevOps technologies Infrastructure-as-Code, GitOps and infrastructure pipelining take centre stage. The offering also addresses the centralised management and automation of Kubernetes clusters of various cloud distributions and enables the enforcement of compliance guidelines.
In this article, however, we take a look at Aria Operations, which VMware promotes as a standardised, high-performance platform for IT operations management in private, hybrid and multicloud environments.
