Webinar Google Cloud VMware Engine

Webinar Google Cloud VMware Engine

With Google Cloud VMware Engine (GCVE), you can run your VMware workload in the cloud, rely on Google’s powerful infrastructure and benefit from the innovation of the Google Cloud. At Söldner Consult, we have over 20 years of VMware experience and support you with our expertise to operate your VMware environment in the cloud.

Broadcom is completely reorganising its VMware offering following the acquisition – with drastic consequences for customers. This webinar analyses the current development and shows how VMware customers can use Google Cloud VMware Engine as a strategic platform for the future.

Overview

Following the acquisition of VMware at the end of last year, Broadcom switched its VMware offering from traditional licences to a subscription model. By simplifying the product lines to VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) and VMware vSphere Foundation (VVF), many previous offerings have been eliminated.

This webinar will give you an orientation on the new course of VMware under Broadcom, provide assistance in dealing with it and show how customers can use GCVE. We are bundling the expertise from the day-to-day work of our experienced speakers into a practical webinar. The webinar covers the areas of virtualisation, VDI, storage systems, security and network virtualisation, cloud management and cloud-native applications in detail.

Target audience

Architects, system administrators, DevOps engineers, decision-makers

Topics

Sooner or later, the effects of the acquisition of VMware by Broadcom will also have an impact on their IT. Strategy and budgets will have to be rethought in the course of the changes.

The previous licensing model, with the option of purchasing individual product licences, was changed in the course of the takeover in favour of a rental or term model. This means a contract model with a comprehensive licence price for a fixed term agreed in advance.

The product range has already been reorganised. Workplace products such as Horizon or Workspace One are no longer part of the product range.

Licensing costs for on-premises VMware environments have already increased by a factor of 3 to 10 and there are no longer any perpetual licences. Products such as NSX, Tanzu and Aria are no longer available individually, but will in future be part of the integrated VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) or VMware vSphere Foundation (VVF). This means that the next version update to a VCF/VVF bundle will be technically much more complex and considerably more expensive.

The changes made by Broadcom represent a strategic turning point. Securing investments and the future viability of your IT infrastructure must be put to the test.

As a long-standing companion of your company in employee training, Soeldner Consult, in cooperation with our partner Google, invites you to take a look into a possible future.

In our webinar, we will look at a scenario for implementing an IT future strategy with a smooth migration of your VMware infrastructure to the Google Cloud VMware Engine (GCVE) without risky and radical disruptions. With GCVE, Soeldner Consult can keep its VMware infrastructure up to date. Google promises future-proof price stability for budgets until mid-2028.

In the webinar, we will answer the following questions, among others:

  • What is the technical structure of GCVE?
  • What does the licensing model look like?
  • What can an assessment look like?
  • How can I modernise my IT using Google Cloud?
  • How can I start a migration?
